The Indiana Pacers face a crucial Game 3 in the Eastern Conference Finals with their backs against the wall. Trailing the Boston Celtics 2-0 and potentially missing star point guard Tyrese Haliburton (questionable with a hamstring injury), the Pacers turn to their perfect 6-0 home playoff record and a raucous Indianapolis crowd for a lifeline.

Haliburton's absence would be a major blow.  The All-NBA selection, who had 25 points and 10 assists in a valiant Game 1 loss, provides crucial playmaking and scoring.  However, the Pacers are no stranger to adversity. When Haliburton suffered a similar injury earlier in the season, Indiana went 6-4 without him.

"Next man up" is the mantra for the Pacers, with veteran guard T.J. McConnell stepping into a potentially larger role.  Indiana also boasts a dominant home record, winning 11 straight games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse dating back to March 18th.

The Pacers hope to capitalize on this momentum and the electric atmosphere of a home crowd during the iconic Indianapolis 500 race weekend.  "We have the guys to understand how hard it is to win," said Pacers forward Pascal Siakam. "We've done it all year, and it's time to dig deep and compete at the highest level."

Meanwhile, the Celtics are riding high on the back of Jaylen Brown's offensive explosion. Brown, snubbed from All-NBA honors, delivered a 40-point performance in Game 2, seemingly motivated by the perceived slight. While Brown downplayed the snub, his teammates recognize his competitive spirit.

"Great player, great leader, but wants to win," said Celtics guard Jrue Holiday.  "The way JB's been playing, man, it's outstanding."

Despite Brown's heroics, Boston will miss the presence of Kristaps Porzingis for the ninth straight game due to a calf injury.

This pivotal Game 3 promises a clash of resilience and motivation. The Pacers, potentially shorthanded but fueled by home court advantage, aim to steal a victory and extend the series. The Celtics, propelled by Brown's scoring outburst, look to tighten their grip on the series with a third straight win. As the roar of the Indianapolis crowd merges with the buzz of the Indy 500 weekend, a captivating battle awaits.
